What is an AI readiness assessment?
An AI readiness assessment measures whether the people expected to use AI are prepared to adopt it, across the dimensions that govern willingness and capability. IMA Worldwide's AI Readiness Pulse Check scores six dimensions of individual AI adoption readiness: Information, Willingness, Ability, Confidence, Control, and Feedback. It is a short version of the AIM Individual Readiness Assessment.
What does the AI Readiness Pulse Check measure?
It measures individual readiness to adopt AI across six dimensions: Information, knowing what is changing and why; Willingness, readiness to adopt despite disruption; Ability, capability to do AI-augmented work; Confidence, trust in using AI; Control, a sense of agency over the change; and Feedback, whether reinforcement and support are present. Fifteen questions produce a score for each dimension.
Why does AI readiness matter?
Because AI initiatives fail at adoption, not technology. Readiness is the leading signal: it shows where adoption will stall before usage data confirms it, so you can intervene on the specific dimension that is low.
How is a readiness score different from an AI usage or maturity score?
Usage and maturity scores are lagging indicators that report what has already happened. A readiness score is a leading indicator that predicts whether adoption will hold. Two organizations with identical usage can have very different readiness, and the low-readiness one will regress first.
